LOCAL ATTORNEYS RECEIVE SPECIAL RECOGNITION FROM THE FLORIDA SUPREME COURT, THE YOUNG LAWYERS DIVISION OF THE FLORIDA BAR AND THE FLORIDA PRO BONO COORDINATORS ASSOCIATION

The Florida Supreme Court, the Florida Pro Bono Coordinators Association and local organized pro bono programs, like the Legal Aid Society, have teamed together to provide the second annual recognition for volunteer attorneys. In February 2006, Chief Justice Barbara Pariente recognized attorneys who participate through an organized pro bono program and contribute over 20 hours, based on cases closed in 2005 or projects completed in 2005. Pins for contribution of 20 to 49 hours are Bronze level, for 50 to 99 hours are Silver level, and for 100 or more hours are Gold level. The pins were paid for by the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar. A letter from Chief Justice Pariente and the individual pin are being mailed to local attorneys who participated in the pro bono programs offered through the Legal Aid Society and contributed over 20 hours in 2005.
