The Legal Aid Society receives many requests for assistance. In order to most efficiently utilize its limited resources, guidelines have been established. They are based on the type of case, financial guidelines, as well as our resources.
General Assistance
We are not able at this time to respond to emails requesting our assistance. Our office is also not prepared to handle “walk-in” applicants. If you have an emergency, please try and call first. You may call for legal assistance at Call: 407-841-8310, and then please choose option 1.
Appointment calls are taken Monday through Thursday from 9:00AM until Noon and from 1:30PM until 3:00PM. We also accept calls for appointments most Saturdays from 9:00AM until Noon. An appointment will be made for all those who appear to qualify for our services.
Below we have listed areas of law that we handle. Please be aware that even if your case falls in an area of law that we handle, we may not be able to take your case due to limited resources.
Citizen Dispute & Family Law Mediation Service
This is a FREE service for anyone residing in Orange County, Florida.
The Orange County Bar Association, a valued partner of the Legal Aid Society, provides this free mediation service. Citizen dispute/family law mediation is an informal, confidential approach for individuals to resolve an existing dispute. It may help you avoid filing a lawsuit and going to court. The settlement/mediation meeting is facilitated by an impartial, professional mediator who listens to both parties and encourages a resolution. By reaching a settlement, both parties avoid court costs and the uncertainty of a trial outcome. To participate in the free Citizens Dispute and Family Law Mediation Service, complete the mediation request form and email a copy to Xiomara Isanoa ([email protected]).

Homeless Clinic
The Society operates a walk-in clinic on Mondays from 1:30PM until 3:00PM at our main office for those who are homeless. We also conduct intake at food and shelter sites around the county. Assistance is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
