To Get Help, Follow These Five Simple Steps

Step 1
Always Call First

Our office is not prepared to handle "walk-in" applicants. If you have an emergency, please try to call first.

Step 2
Ask to speak with a telephone interviewer or press 1

The phone interviewer will take the information and determine if Legal Aid may be able to help with your problem. If it appears that you meet our basic guidelines, an appointment will be made for you. Whenever possible, we will attempt to schedule an appointment at a location close to you. Our main office is located in downtown Orlando. Outreach offices are in Winter Park, Winter Garden, Washington Shores, East Orange and Apopka.

Step 3
Be on time for your appointment

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call the main office. This will help us serve as many people as possible. We will reschedule you for the next available appointment.

Step 4
What you should bring

You should bring information about the income and expenses of everyone living in the household, any court papers, leases, or contracts that relate to your legal matter. Also, please bring the names and addresses of the people involved with your problem. A trained interviewer will review and complete your application.

Step 5
Notification of our decision

Your application for legal assistance will be reviewed by one of our staff attorneys. Once a determination has been made, we will contact you by mail within 3 to 5 working days. This notification will be sent to the address provided on the application. Completion of an application does not mean that we have agreed to provide you with legal assistance.
